WMBF News nominated for NABJ Salute to Excellence Awards

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) - WMBF News received a pair of nominations for the National Association of Black Journalists’ upcoming Salute to Excellence Awards.

The nominees were announced Tuesday. WMBF was the only outlet in the Myrtle Beach/Florence market to receive nods from the organization.

Those nominations were:

Market 16 & Below - Feature: Long Form
- The Story of Jamestown
  - Derrion Henderson, George Hansen
Market 16 & Below - General Assignment News: Long Form
- Cross Burning in Conway, South Carolina
  - Makayla Evans, Anya Carney, Loren Korn, Derrion Henderson

The winners will be announced in Chicago on Aug. 3 as part of the NABJ’s Convention & Career Fair.
