WMBF News receives 9 Emmy nominations

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) - WMBF News once again received nominations for the upcoming Southeast Emmy Awards.

Organizers announced the nominations earlier this week, with WMBF getting nine nods in the following categories:

  • WMBF News at 6
• News Special
  • The Revolving Door of Addiction
• News Feature - Light Feature
  • Race Camp
• Lifestyle - News
  • Luxury Living From Old RVs
• Nostalgia - News
  • Bridging the Gap
  • The Story of Jamestown
• Director - Newscast
  • Sarah Pettigrew
• Photographer - News
  • George Hansen
• Video Essayist
  • George Hansen

The nine nominations are the most of any station in the Myrtle Beach/Florence market.

WMBF won two Emmys last year, including one for coverage of the trial involving the now-convicted killer of Brittanee Drexel.

This year’s winners will be announced in June.
