Coroner IDs bicyclist killed in Georgetown County crash

A bicyclist died in a Sunday morning crash near the Georgetown area, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - The Georgetown County Coroner’s Office released the name of the bicyclist who died in a March crash.

Paris Venable, 49, of Hemingway, died in the March 17 crash near the Georgetown area, according to Coroner Chase Ridgeway.

The crash happened around 10:06 a.m. on Highway 51.

A 2004 Toyota sedan hit the bicyclist, Venable, from behind, killing him, Master Trooper Brandon Bolt with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said.

The driver of the sedan was not hurt in the crash.
