BRUNSWICK COUNTY, N.C. (WECT/Gray News) – Deputies in North Carolina were called twice in one day to remove a massive alligator from the highway Monday.

“Our deputies never know what they are going to be called to respond to!” the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office wrote in a post on Facebook.

Deputies Branch, Sutton and Nichter helped move the alligator, which was “hanging out” near the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge.

“Thankfully, the alligator was saved from traffic on the highway, and those traveling the highway were saved from the gator! Thank you, deputies for bravely wrangling that big alligator!” the sheriff’s office added.

The alligator was not harmed during either relocation.
