Police recover drugs, gun in Marion traffic stop

MARION, SC (WMBF) - A Marion man is facing charges after being accused of multiple drug crimes.

Marion police said they were investigating 47-year-old Daryl Lamont Jones for several months.

Then, on May 1, authorities said they pulled Jones over and recovered 159 grams of cocaine base, 26 grams of cocaine, 20 doses of methamphetamines, 9 grams of marijuana, a 9mm handgun and $747.

Jones’ charges include trafficking cocaine base 100 grams or more, trafficking cocaine 10 grams or more but less than 28 grams, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamines, third offense and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

His bond was set at $90,000.
