Litter of otter pups born at Brookgreen Gardens

MURRELLS INLET, S.C. (WMBF) - The Lowcountry Zoo at Brookgreen Gardens is celebrating the arrival of some otter-ly adorable new additions.

The zoo said a litter of six otter pups was born on Jan. 20, with the mother, John, said to be doing fine. Five of the pups born were female while the other was a male.

Officials added the pups will not be visible to the public for a few months while they develop and learn to swim.

“Join us in sending lots of love and warm wishes to John and her adorable pups,” Brookgreen Gardens wrote in a social media post.
