NORTH CAROLINA (WBTV) — According to a report by the N.C. State Lottery Commission, North Carolinians wagered over $655 million within the first three weeks of legal sports gambling.
To be exact, they wagered $659,308,541 on sports events.
This report’s data covered the state’s first day of sports wagering, March 11 through March 31.
Bets included promo and paid revenue, and officials say North Carolinians won $590,750,303 from those wagers.
In March, the gross wagering revenue was $66,496,213. State law places an 18% tax on the gross wagering revenue generated by sports wagering activity.
