MYRTLE BEACH, S.C (WMBF) – The winner of the first-ever Myrtle Beach Classic has been crowned.

Chris Gotterup, 24, from Easton, Maryland won the inaugural tournament by finishing 22 under. This is Gotterup’s first PGA TOUR title in his 27th career start. He now qualifies for next week’s PGA Championship.

Not only does he take home a trophy but also a jacket and a $3.9 million purse along with 300 FedExCup points.

Bryan Rapp designed the trophy. He is a contemporary figurative sculptor, a teacher and the director of Wallace Master Sculptor program at Brookgreen Gardens.

The jacket designer is Jonathan Smith who is also known as “The Suit Man.” He owns the custom tailer company Bespoke Carolina. He also creates the jackets for the Dunes Club board members.
