Motorcyclist dies after early morning crash in Marion County

MARION COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) - A motorcyclist has died following an early morning crash in the Pee Dee.
South Carolina Highway Patrol Lcpl. Lena Butler confirmed the crash happened at 5:44 a.m. on Highway 501 near S.C. 41 just south of Mullins. The rider was on a 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle heading north on Highway 501.
The rider veered off the road into an embankment. Butler said they died from their injuries on the scene.
The coroner has not yet released the identity of the victim.
South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
