GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - South Carolina voters will head to the polls in February for the state’s presidential primary elections - but the names on the ballots may be confusing to some.

The deadline for ballot removal in S.C. was Jan. 2 so candidates who drop out after that date will remain on the ballot.

Chris Christie, Vivek Ramaswamy, and Ron DeSantis, who all suspended their bids for the Republican nomination, will still be listed on South Carolina primary ballots.

Signs and information will be posted at polling locations letting voters know about candidates who are no longer running if the proper notification is made to the election commission.

Residents can still vote for the candidates, but any votes for the drop-out candidates will not be reported in the final results for the state. The information will be used for voter turnout numbers.
