FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) – A woman is accused of calling in a bomb threat to a beauty school in Florence County.

Deputies arrested 23-year-old Demarie Spontis on Monday and charged her with making a bomb threat.

The Florence County Sheriff’s Office said the suspect called in a bomb threat to 1428 Floyd Circle, which is listed as the location for Canvas Artistry, a beauty school that focuses on the nail industry.

When deputies arrived at the scene they deployed an explosive-detecting K9 and determined that the threat was a hoax.

Investigators said Spontis, along with a co-conspirator who has not been named, made the fake threat toward the beauty school.

A judge set a $10,000 bond for Spontis on Tuesday and she was released hours later after making bail.

Deputies said the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are possible.
