N.C. sex offender arrested for going to youth baseball games, deputies say

A North Carolina man is facing charges after allegedly showing up at a place with children present despite being a registered sex offender.

SCOTLAND COUNTY, NC (WMBF) - A North Carolina man is facing charges after allegedly showing up at a place with children present despite being a registered sex offender.

The Scotland County Sheriff’s Office arrested Johnathon Sheffield, 36, of Scotland County, on Monday, charging him with two counts of sex offender on child premises.

Sheffield showed up to two different children’s baseball games, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies booked Sheffield into the Scotland County Detention Center under a 100,000 thousand dollar secured bond.
