NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Project Golf hosted kids from across the Grand Strand for a junior clinic with PGA Tour pros on Tuesday afternoon.

Around 60 kids went to Barefoot Resort and Golf to learn from the pros as well as certified instructors from Project Golf.

The director of Project Golf, Angel Diaz, said the goal for the day was about teaching kids to do more than swing a club.

“It’s about the camaraderie, it’s about the teamwork, it’s about the perseverance, it’s about the honor, it’s about the integrity, it’s all of the above,” said Diaz. “I hope that’s the message that we’re able to portray today during this clinic.”

The kids that participated are part of the PGA Junior League, The Boys and Girls Club of the Grand Strand, and other youth organizations in Myrtle Beach.

Project Golf is also one of the nine charities this week’s tournament will benefit.
