FIRST ALERT: Sunny and cool weekend, warmer next week
MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Cooler temperatures and plenty of sunshine continue to provide for a nice weekend forecast.
TODAY
A few morning clouds will push offshore, giving way to plenty of sunshine through the day. Winds will remain breezy at times today but will be nothing like Thursday with gusts of 10-20 mph expected today.

Afternoon temperatures will be in the lower 60s today with more sunshine expected throughout the afternoon. Find time to get outside and soak up the sunshine.
THIS WEEKEND
Colder air behind the strong low pressure to our northeast will send temperatures down into the upper 30s inland and lower 40s tonight. As you step out the door Saturday morning, it will be a chilly start for early morning plans.

Sunshine continues throughout the day on Saturday as winds will be out of the north at 10-20 mph. That north wind will keep temperatures in the lower 60s for Saturday afternoon, but the sunshine should make it feel okay for any outdoor plans. A jacket will be needed for the early morning hours both Saturday and Sunday.

Temperatures will start to rebound as we head into Sunday afternoon. After another cold start, temperatures will climb into the middle 60s for the beaches with some upper 60s mixed inland. Once again, plenty of sunshine for any plans Sunday.
ECLIPSE FORECAST
If you’re staying here in the Carolinas for the partial Eclipse, our forecast looks great! Higher level cirrus clouds will stream into the area. Temperatures will climb to near 70° for the beaches with the low-mid 70s inland. We have a full breakdown on everything regarding the Great American Eclipse here.

Keep in mind, we will only see 70% coverage on Monday. Totality remains off to our northwest and a few locations in the path of totality could be dealing with showers and clouds come Monday. Not good for those traveling.
