FIRST ALERT: Pop up downpours continue Tuesday, keeping an eye on Thursday
MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Summer-like warmth and humidity will keep the risk of showers and storms in the forecast Tuesday. A few severe storms may develop by Thursday.
TUESDAY
Another humid day is on the way Tuesday with pop up showers and storms at times. The best risk of rain on Tuesday will likely arrive in the morning as a cluster of rain moves through. A break in the shower activity will develop from late morning through the afternoon with just isolated showers or storms possible by the late afternoon and evening.
It will be another warm day with temperatures well into the middle 80s at the beach and into the upper 80s inland.
REST OF THE WEEK
Wednesday will see even more warmth and humidity build across the area. Temperatures across the Grand Strand will reaching into the middle to upper 80s while inland areas climb to near 90. With some drier air in the upper atmosphere, Wednesday will stay rain-free.
Thursday will see temperatures again well into the upper 80s to lower 90s with high humidity. At the same time, a cold front will start to move into the region late in the day. This will set the stage for a better chance of thunderstorms. With high heat and humidity in place along with some energy in the upper atmosphere, some severe storms will be possible by the evening.

After a potentially active evening on Thursday with strong to severe storms possible, lower humidity, cooler temperatures and drier weather will return for Friday into the weekend.
High temperatures will drop into the lower 80s on Friday with mid 70s and plenty of sunshine.
