Horry County Schools appoints interim superintendent
HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) - Horry County Schools has selected an interim superintendent while the search to replace Dr. Maxey continues.
During the HCS meeting on Wednesday, the school board discussed at length the options for an interim superintendent during the executive session.

After three hours, the board announced they would be appointing Dr. Eddie Ingram.
Ingram retired from the Berkeley County School District in 2021 after serving BCSD since 2017 as superintendent. Before BCSD, Ingram served as the superintendent at Darlington County Schools for four years.
Since retiring Ingram has served as an interim superintendent at school districts in North Carolina and Massachusetts.
He has his Doctorate in Education and has been in the education field for over four decades.
He will take the interim role beginning July 1.
