NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - The smell of flour is in the air, baking flour that is. Nichole Harasyn bakes all things delicious.

“Cupcakes, sugar cookies, cake pops, bars,” said Nichole.

It started as a tasty type of therapy after a long day at her family’s construction company.

“I loved working with family, but the job itself was stressful,” she said. “So, after work, I’d go home and bake, and I loved doing that. That was my little outlet.”

The Minnesota couple changed up their recipe and moved to North Myrtle Beach in 2021. Nichole’s husband, Patrick, then encouraged her to bake full-time.

“He was a very big motivator in starting my own business, and he knew I was passionate about that,” she said.

The dynamic duo eventually launched Boot’s Bakery LLC, an at-home bakery that customizes desserts and is delivered straight to your door.

“Boots was always my nickname growing up. I loved wearing my dad’s cowboy boots and then it carried on over the years. I have a boots obsession, so Boot’s Bakery kind of rang,” giggled Nichole.

Her boots are made for baking, always keeping the ideas and flavors fun and fresh. The couple said working together is just icing on the cake, most of the time.

“The biggest challenge is just the fact that Pat and I both work from home and coordinating our schedules if he’s on the phone and I’m using my mixer,” she said.

Nichole crushes the baking while Patrick crunches the numbers and handles the company’s finances, marketing, and anything technical while balancing his full-time job.

“She calls me the AV club because I can help with the projector and make her menus online. So, a lot of that. I do the deliveries for her. A lot of deliveries. Then I help sell at markets and things like that. I’m kind of the pretty face of the company, the Boot’s Bakery mascot,” laughed Patrick.

Boot’s Bakery LLC also sells its treats at farmers’ markets and restaurants like The Marina Bar and Grill at Barefoot Resort.

“It’s a cool way to interact with customers and to get the product and name out there,” said Patrick.

Their products also include homemade pup treats. The bakery donates half its proceeds to Kind Keeper Animal Rescue to help raise money for a new unit.

“The community loves to hear that and loves to support other local businesses. It’s been a great fit,” said Nichole.

She showed off her many designs, like the Taylor Swift friendship bracelet and the art of icing.

Nichole told WMBF News that her favorite part of the job is seeing her customers smile, proving the best things in life are sweet.

“I just truly love it. Once I make an order and give it to my client and see how happy they are and see it incorporated into their event. It just makes it all worth it,” said Nichole.
