Federal trial date set for Marion man accused of killing New Mexico State police officer
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (WMBF) - The federal trial date is set for the Marion man accused in the killing of a New Mexico State Police officer, according to federal records.
Jaremy Smith, 33, has a tentative trial date set for June 10 at 9 a.m. at the Pete V. Domenici United States Courthouse in Albuquerque New Mexico.
Smith pleaded not guilty on April 18 to the charge of carjacking resulting in death and discharge of a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence that is linked to the March 15 shooting death of New Mexico State Police Officer Justin Hare.

Smith is accused of carjacking and shooting Hare after the officer was called to help Smith with a flat tire. Smith is also facing state charges in New Mexico in the killing of Hare.
Smith was arrested two days after Hare died in a New Mexico neighborhood.
Smith has remained in federal custody in New Mexico.
