DILLON, S.C. (WMBF) – Police arrested a 23-year-old man who is accused of calling in a bomb threat to Dillon High School.

Officers took Elijah McDonald into custody last week in Hemingway. He is charged with bomb/threat, conspiring to threat.

Police said back on Feb. 14, officers were called to Dillon High School for reports of a bomb threat.

When officers arrived, it was determined that a man called into the main office and made a threat towards the school.

Police and firefighters searched inside and outside of the school but didn’t find any suspicious devices.

Investigators called the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and began tracking the phone number and using other resources to find the caller.

After an extensive, multi-agency investigation, authorities said they were able to identify the caller as McDonald.

A judge set a $10,000 bond for McDonald.
