FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) – Authorities arrested two teenagers on felony charges after posting a video on social media.

The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources in Region 2, which covers Florence, Darlington, Dillon, Marion and Marlboro counties, was alerted to a “disturbing social media video depicting animal cruelty.”

It’s not clear exactly what was shown in the video.

But SCDNR officers began an investigation which led to the arrests of a 15 and 17-year-old.

The two are charged with felony III treatment of an animal.

The case will now be handled by the 12th Circuit Solicitor’s Office and the Department of Juvenile Justice.
