N.C. man charged in Little River shooting, home invasion

A North Carolina man is facing charges after police say he was involved in an Horry County shooting.

LITTLE RIVER, S.C. (WMBF) - A North Carolina man is facing charges after police say he was involved in an Horry County shooting.

Records show 45-year-old John McCray, of Clarendon, North Carolina, was booked in the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on Wednesday.

They also show McCray was booked by the Horry County Sheriff’s Office and charged with a count each of attempted murder, burglary and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Arrest warrants obtained by WMBF News state McCray allegedly forced his way into a home on Grizzly Road on Monda while armed with a handgun. Documents state the victim was later shot multiple times in his right arm and right shoulder.

As of Friday afternoon, McCray remains at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center with no bond set.
