NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) – A North Myrtle Beach man faces several charges after police said they found pictures of child porn on his computer.

The investigation began in March when the North Myrtle Beach Police Department received a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children task force about a child porn image that was searched for from an IP address located in the city.

Authorities said the IP address was registered to a unit located along South Ocean Boulevard and Michael Prince was listed as the registered owner.

Detectives executed a search warrant on April 11 at the home, where Prince said he was the only one who lived at the address.

“Mr. Prince admitted to having numerous illicit images of children depicted in lascivious exhibition on a ‘HP’ Desktop computer located in his living room,” the police report states.

The police report claims that officers searched the computer and found the child porn images.

Detectives seized the desktop computer and three cellphones from Prince’s home.

Police arrested Prince on April 16 and charged him with five counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. He was released the next day after posting a $25,000 bond.
