Report: Student caught with pistol, loaded mag at Myrtle Beach Middle School
MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A police report is providing new details after a gun was found last week at Myrtle Beach Middle School.
The school’s resource officer responded just before 8:10 a.m. on Tuesday after a student said a bullet was found by the cafeteria bathrooms.
While the SRO investigated, the school’s administration saw one student “acting strangely,” and they were pulled for a possible search.
While walking with the administration, two bullets fell out of this student’s pants, according to an incident report from the Myrtle Beach Police Department.
A search by the SRO then revealed the student had a pistol and a loaded magazine, the report states.
The student is facing multiple charges, including possession of a firearm on school property, pointing a firearm at another person, student threats and unlawful carrying of a handgun, according to the report.
The investigation is ongoing.
