Panthers introduce new HC Dave Canales, GM Dan Morgan
The Panthers have their men.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - The Panthers have their men.
Dave Canales, Carolina’s new head coach, and Dan Morgan, the new general manager, were formally introduced at Bank of America Stadium on Thursday morning.
Canales, the former Bucs offensive coordinator, became a hot candidate on the coaching market this offseason after revitalizing the careers of quarterbacks Geno Smith and Baker Mayfield during the past two seasons.
The 42-year-old called plays for the first time in 2023, helping the Buccaneers win the NFC South and coaching Mayfield to a career-high in passing yards and touchdowns. He did the same for Smith a year prior.
Canales worked as an offensive assistant for the Seahawks from 2010 to 2022 before his lone season with Tampa Bay.
Morgan, the Panthers’ assistant general manager since 2021, played seven seasons with the organization. After his playing career was over, he spent time with the Seattle Seahawks from 2011 to 2014 as the assistant director of pro personnel, and from 2015 to 2020, he was the Seahawk’s director of pro personnel.
During his time with the Seahawks, he worked alongside Canales until serving as director of pro personnel with the Buffalo Bills from 2018-2020.
The Panthers now have their fourth full-time head coach since owner David Tepper bought the team in 2018. Frank Reich was fired this past year, failing to make it through an entire season at the helm.
