CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Carolina Panthers star Brian Burns has been traded to the New York Giants, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

The Panthers will received a 2nd round and 5th round draft pick in exchange for Burns as he becomes the second highest paid defensive end.

The Panthers placed the franchise tag on Burns just last week. Burns posted 46 sacks in his first five seasons with the Panthers and had a career-high 12.5 in 2022.

The two-time Pro Bowler was selected No. 16 overall by the Panthers in the 2019 NFL Draft.
